Learn how to send viewers from Mindstamp to specific Constant Contact lists
Creating Constant Contact Lists
To create a list, we can head over to Constant Contact and go to the "Contacts" page.
From there, we can select "Create List."
In the pop up box, go ahead and name your list. I will name it "Mindstamp Example 1" and select save.
I'm going to repeat this process and create a second list called "Mindstamp Example 2" which we will see used in the remainder of this demo.
Once your list is saved, you might need to refresh your Constant Contact Lists if you have already connected your Mindstamp account to Constant Contact.
Updating Constant Contact Lists
In order to enable sending your viewers to your Constant Contact lists, you must first check the box next to "Send Viewers to your Constant Contact Lists." From there, you can select the lists that your views should be added to and those in which your viewer should be removed from. For our example, I will select "Example List 1" for the list my viewers should be added to, and "Example List 2" for the list my viewers should be remove from.
Warning
If you do not have a list for viewers to be added to, then you can not capture new contacts. This means that if a viewer providers their email and they are not in your Constant Contact account, then nothing will happen for that email. Therefore, It is best to provide a list in which new contacts can be added.
When sending viewers to your Constant Contact lists is enabled, your videos can add and remove viewers from specific lists once they have viewed the video. In order to do this, you will need to capture the viewers email at a minimum in order for Constant Contact to locate or create a contact to add to or remove from a list.
That's all that is required to update your Constant Contact account. Now let's test this to make sure it's working properly.
Testing Configuration
To test that your lists are being updated properly, go ahead and follow the steps 1-4 listed here to start viewing your video.
Once your video is playing, you should be greeted with the viewer information capture. Here, I will input the following
Once I select "Keep Going!" I will let the video play a little. Then after a couple of minutes, we can head over to Constant Contact to check our lists.
On this page, I will see my two Constant Contact lists, Mindstamp Example 1 and Mindstamp Example 2.
If we go into the lists (prior to the view), we can see that [email protected] is in Mindstamp Example 2 but not in Mindstamp Example 1.
Now (after the view) we can go into Mindstamp Example 1 and we will see the contact that viewed the Constant Contact Demo video.
Then in Mindstamp Example 2, we will see that [email protected] is no longer in the list.
There we have it! [email protected] was added to Mindstamp Example 1 and removed from Mindstamp Example 2.
Refreshing Constant Contact Lists
If you are trying to update the lists that you would like to update and you do not see one of your Constant Contact lists in the drop downs, it is important to update your lists in Mindstamp. You can do this from the individual video's integration tab, your account integration tab, or the integrations portion of your bulk video settings.
